Dalton is an experienced attorney and executive with a broad legal and business background with particular expertise in corporate securities, real estate, and energy matters. He has served in executive roles at, and as counsel to, both private and public companies. Additionally, he has structured and executed complex financing, merger, acquisition, and restructuring transactions, as well as worked through the myriad of issues facing companies in various stages of the corporate life cycle: from start-ups to mature public companies.
He has represented clients as outside counsel at a variety of firms including Skadden Arps, Morgan Lewis, Luce Forward, and Sheppard Mullin in transactions totaling in the billions of dollars in aggregate value. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of business development and general counsel to Applied Solar, Inc., a publicly traded solar company.
Dalton earned his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center, where he was editor-in-chief of The Tax Lawyer, the American Bar Association’s flagship tax publication, and received his Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Southern California.
