Carbon Motors™ Selects ‘Ready Buckle’ Prisoner Restraint System for its Concept Demonstration Vehicle

September 15, 2008

ATLANTA, Georgia, September 2008 – Carbon Motors Corporation today announced that it would use the ‘Ready Buckle’ prisoner restraint system in its Concept Demonstration Vehicle (‘CDV’).

“Suspect insertion into the rear compartment of a law enforcement vehicle can be a hazardous activity for a police officer. The ‘Ready Buckle’ reduces risk by avoiding the need for the officer to reach across the suspect to secure them safely. We are very pleased to be working with ‘Ready Buckle’ to evaluate their system in conjunction with the coach door feature in our ‘CDV’”, remarked Trevor J. Rudderham, executive vice president and chief development officer, Carbon Motors Corporation.

Officer Steve Currie of Bloomfield Township police and the co-developer of the Ready Buckle said, “The idea of a purpose built vehicle is a very exciting one for us in law enforcement who have to live with the compromises of today’s products. Carbon’s concept vehicle is a great way to showcase our restraint system and demonstrate the safety advantages.”
