Carbon Motors Corporation, a new American automaker developing the world’s first purpose-built law enforcement patrol vehicle, has named Trevor J Rudderham as its Vice-President and Chief Development Officer. Rudderham will report to William Santana Li, Chairman and CEO of Carbon Motors and will have responsibility for research, design, engineering, and product development integration matters.
“Trevor has over 27 years of automotive experience which has included leading a $500 million all-new engine program from concept to production and being chief engineer of a $1.5 billion new vehicle program,” said Li. “He has the requisite skills to develop a world-class product for our law enforcement First Responders.”
“The opportunity to start an all-new automaker from the ground up and develop this much needed product from a clean slate is just too great to pass up,” commented Rudderham. “It’s a challenge I am truly looking forward to.”
Prior to joining Carbon Motors, Rudderham was Director of Product Planning for North American small vehicles at Ford Motor Company. He also led the development of the Ford Freestyle, Ford Five Hundred, and Mercury Montego and had development responsibility for the Zetec SE engine for Ford of Europe.
Trevor gained a First Class Honors Degree in Automotive Engineering from Loughborough University in England, graduating first in his class and receiving the Institute of Mechanical Engineers prize for outstanding final year work in addition to management development studies at the INSEAD Business School in France
