If you’ve never coordinated an event for several thousand people, then you might not be aware of the amount of planning and physical labor that goes into such an occasion. While the obvious matters are easily recognized – setting up chairs, building the movie screen trusses, and setting up the stage – details such as who turns on the microphone for the first speaker might accidentally go unaddressed (sorry Mayor Urban!). Every minute of activity must be planned and coordinated for the entire day and I have earned a tremendous respect for those who do this for a living!
We managed to pull-off both sessions of the Carbon Career & Information Day without a [major] hitch! And let there be no mistake about it – we could not have done it without the help of the City of Connersville, the team at Shook Construction, the suppliers who delivered on-time, and the individual volunteers named below who worked tirelessly to help setup and prepare for these very important meetings:
Darrick Davis
Kelly & Linda Day
Cena & Stanford Graves
Katrina Griffin
Larry Meyers
John Pause
Ruby Siler
Bryant Pennington
Diana Wright
(I don’t believe I missed anyone, but please post a comment if I did so that we can thank you, too!)
Much like Carbon Motors Day and the Rally for America Jobs, everyone pulled together to ensure the success of a rising star in the community – some even worked through their Easter holiday. The City of Connersville has once again proven that we at Carbon Motors made the right decision selecting it as our home.
I am not the only one who is expressing appreciation for a job well done. Countless people approached me at the conclusion of each session to express their intent to continue, complete or rekindle their education in order to have the opportunity to work for a company so focused on raising the bar in the American workplace. And a quick glance over the written comments received by all of the news coverage of the day are overwhelmingly positive and supportive of the program, organization and information provided by all who participated. An article published in today’s Palladium-Item was equally as flattering.
Pure Justice Tour stop #49 is now complete and it has provided us with just that much more confirmation that America is back and ready to get to work. Next – Pure Justice Tour stop #50 – Houston, Texas in two weeks!

Sorry Katrina! I added your name to the list - thanks again for you help!
