A Race To The Finish

In the week leading up to the deadline for the five US States (Georgia, Indiana, Michigan, North Carolina, and South Carolina) to submit their final proposals for Carbon’s Campus, we still had two cities under consideration to visit: Charlotte, NC and Aiken, SC. Both cities found themselves in the sites of the Pure Justice Tour, giving each potential site location full appreciation for exactly what is at their fingertips – 10,000 new American jobs dressed in red, white and blue and 300 horsepower.

The folks in North Carolina welcomed us at the zMax Dragway @ Concord (on the grounds of Lowe’s Motor Speedway). We were thrilled to bring the E7 to Lowe’s to be a part of the biggest race week in North Carolina, the 50th running of the Coca-Cola 600. Law enforcement from all over the State converged on the Dragway to “meet” the E7, while members of the State’s Department of Commerce met with Carbon’s Chairman and CEO to ensure an on time submission of their response. The crew of “Pass Time”, the ultimate drag racing game show on the SPEED Channel, even invited The Machine back for a launch down the Dragway. The thought of the E7 flying down the pavement of any sanctioned raceway is certainly thrilling and we thank everyone responsible for making us a part of it all!

The Pure Justice Tour wrapped up the week in Aiken, South Carolina for a private meeting at Sage Valley Golf and Hunting Club. Hundreds of attendees included business leaders and officials from the County and the State. Our time in Aiken showed a complete understanding of the public and private sector collaboration that is essential to leading Carbon’s efforts in the coming years. Everyone at Sage Valley—starting with Weldon Wyatt and his son Tom—is focused on continually reviewing and reassessing existing quality and service standards and looking for new ways in which they can be further enhanced. This level of attention to detail is consistent with Carbon’s focus on every aspect of law enforcement and how it relates to their most valuable tool, the patrol vehicle. We are sincerely appreciative of everyone’s time and efforts in making us feel like part of the South Carolina family.

As Bill mentioned in an update this past Friday (Link here), all five states have submitted their final proposals. Based on our experiences from all over the country, I know that the decision we have to make in the coming weeks will be an extremely difficult one, and the entire journey has left me with memories to last a lifetime!

As a lifelong resident of Connersville, I was very impressed with the turn-out for the open house that we had for carbon motors. Connersville is rich in automotive history and has a willing and able worke force that is already schooled in the production of automobile manufacturing. Not only are we able to produce a great product, but we also have a state police post right here in town. That could only be a bonus to a company that is producing state of the art police cars. Just think of the easy access to information that the officers stationed here could provide to your company about the needs of police forces all over the country. A willing and able trained workforce, easy access to the people you are catering too, close proximity to 3 large cities, a working railway leading right into the plant, and a very safe community in which to raise a family would be an asset to your company. We thank you very much for giving hope to a community that has had more than it's share of dissapointments.

I so can not wait to see this car on the streets making traffic stops. So cool to have a truly intergard car for once.

The Carbon Motors commitment to producing an excellent law enforcement vehicle and the distinguished history the citizens of Connersville, IN have for producing historic-quality automobiles sounds like an unbeatable combo.
