On the heels of ringing the opening bell at NASDAQ and being greeted by over 7,300 Hoosiers in Indiana along with the pleasure of meeting with Governor Mitch Daniels (R-IN) – it certainly was an additional wonderful experience to meet with the South Carolina congressional delegation in Washington DC these last few days. Congressmen Gresham Barrett (R-SC), John Spratt (D-SC), Bob Inglis (R-SC) as well as House Majority Jim Clyburn (D-SC) and both U.S. Senators Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Jim DeMint (R-SC) were not only extremely gracious with their time but tremendously supportive of the efforts at Carbon Motors. They understand that providing our law enforcement first responders with the appropriate world-class equipment is not only a national issue cutting across local, state, and federal levels but is also a cross-cabinet issue involving the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice, Department of Energy, Department of Transportation, and Department of Labor. They also appreciate that supporting our cause at Carbon Motors is a bi-partisan issue and the creation of 10,000 new direct and indrect American jobs in this climate is certainly a political lightning rod.
But the words uttered that still ring true for me from the trip is “Country First.” The entire delegation made it abundantly clear that the State of South Carolina wants Carbon Motors in their state. Congressman Barrett took the further step to offer his uncondiitional support of the effort no matter which US States we locate as it is in the national interest of the United States of America to insure we protect our homeland from threats, both foreign and domestic. It is a tremendous feeling to see the American spirit not only well and alive in Connersville, Indiana but in South Carolina and have it echo through the halls of the U.S. Capitol. It will not be long before we can all stand tall and scream at the top of our lungs, “America is Back!”.

Carbon Motors would be a welcomed member of the South Carolina community. South carolina has one of the best work forces in the nation in my opinion and we will stand up to any challenge that is presented to us. Aiken county has been hit just as hard as any other county in the US with job losses and unemployment. Carbon Motors would be the best thing to happen to our little town in a long time. I for one welcome you with open arms. Good luck and hope to see you in South Carolina soon.
I read in the Augusta Chronicle that a possible site would be Graniteville, I think the entire CSRA would welcome Carbon Motore to the area
Here's a group we started to gather some support. The more the merrier. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=92656164655
