Greetings from the road……I was going to say the ‘campaign trail’ as it sure feels that way! Has been an interesting past 10 days having
stopped in Chicago, Wisconsin, Ohio, Indiana, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Washington DC. And in the next ten days I will be back to Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Chicago.
Well, we have set a 22 May 2009 deadline for final offers from Georgia, Indiana, Michigan, North Carolina, and South Carolina. I do appreciate all of the thoughts you’ve shared on our blogs (and yes I do read them).
We have received at least 3 interesting offers which we are assessing and I think 1 more might be in the works. Obviously this is a big decision but we are lucky to have to choose from some great locations and we have met some extraordinary people along the way – plus made lots of new friends! As so much work has gone into these proposals we will certainly take the time to think things through carefully. Rest assured we will be as thoughtful in our decision as these great communities have been in receiving us so graciously.

This car is amazing! I talked to one of the local officers in my city and he said hes heard about it and loves it. He just doesn't think that the price range is going to be in anyones budget. Now I understand they say it will cost as much as a law enforcement vehicle now days cost, but thats a little hard to beleive. Can you tell us anything on the price range?
Just wanted to say I think you guys are doing one hell of a good job. I really like how you are keeping the public "in the loop" with your decisions and visiting the cities. I recently just visited the Connersville open house and enjoyed seeing the car and your openess to visit with the community. I wish you the best of luck with your decision as I know it will be the right one for Carbon Motors. I can't wait for the production to start and maybe one day have an E7 as my unit. Thanks again! GO CONNERSVILLE!!! :)
To have Mr. Li and associates visit our classrooom was an experience beyond words. Mr. Li made my students feel important and thier questions relevant. This experience will no doubt be what they remember from our time together in the classroom. The experience was genuine and so are the gentlemen of Carbon Motors. Connersville is your home in waiting.
I am from connersville indiana and i just wanted to say thank you for coming and looking at our town. My father owns a garage here in town and everyday we here people ask about jobs and how there isnt any here. It would be great to have you in our town. Thank you!!!
Mr. Li, we moved our family to Connersville four years ago from the east coast. It has been a wonderful place for our children. As a pastor, I will continue to pray for God's wisdom as you make your decision. Thank you for coming to visit our community. Thank you.
connersville is a logical choice...with all the years and generations of automobile manufacturing in that town it would almost be a waste to look elsewhere...i dont live in connersville...i actually live 45 minutes outside of chicago..have a great job ..i have set myself up to retire in 8 short years at the age of 50... after that i plan to move to connersville...the last 10 years of my life have been spent in that general area on most of my vacations..probably sounds odd to the locals there but i just like the friendly people down there..there are alot of different things to do from metamora, going fishing, or catching a fairly local auction in a nearby amish community...the town is within an hour of 3 decent sized metropolitan areas...dayton cincinati and indianapolis...and to top it off the town itself would welcome any business in like they have been there forever that just to keep the way of life they know functioning..people down there to the most part live a simpler life...they are'nt caught up in all that shines ..they are more interested in family and values... just my opinion but if i was going to start some kind of manufacturing i would take a real close look at what this town has to offer..with all of the smaller busineses that cater to the auto industry in that area with machining tool and die and everything else set up for the previous automobile industry and the newer ones like honda and toyota ..the three major metro areas within an hours drive...and the down home values and work ethics...it in my opinion would be a win win situation not only for the town but for any business that decided to move into it...just my 2 cents from someone thats standing outside of the picture looking in
I have to tell you the signs in connersville still say "welcome Carbon Motors", the people of Connersville are truely excited to have this opportunity.I moved to Connersville 11 yrs ago and I am proud to call it home. While many in this country focus on the economy, I tend to focus on education and the future. Connersville is a great place to educate our children, which in turn will secure our future. I hope you choose connersville to educate your own children. By the way I am not a teacher, I am a mother, wife and nurse. Connersville awaits your decision.
I live in Connersville and I think that this opportunity is beyond amazing! We really appreciate your consideration for out town and hope that we are your future home.
STATUS AS OF 22 MAY 2009: Just a short posting to let you know that Carbon Motors Corporation has received the final offers from all 5 US States (Georgia, Indiana, Michigan, North Carolina, and South Carolina). We are genuinely appreciative of all the kind and gracious support and interest in our efforts - and special thanks to all of the communities as well as all of the elected and appointed officials at the local, state, and federal level that took the time to pull the offers together. You have our commitment to be as thoughtful and thorough in our analysis before making the final decision. But no matter where home ends up being - always remember that it is 'Country First' and what we will do together will have an effect on every man, woman, and child, and every community, city, state, port, college campus, airport, road, highway, alley, and country ride across this great land of ours. Thanks again!
Carbon Motors, thanks for considering Connersville your future home. Because we have lost so many jobs, we have a skilled workforce ready to dedicate ourselves to a new company. Please consider giving us that chance. Thanks again.
I wanted to share our families excitement for your return visit tomorrow in Connersville IN. The entire town wishes it could be present. Many of us will be serving the community by working at the hospital and unable to attend but in no way does that reduce our enthusiasm. Enjoy your day here and best wishes to your company. If you choose to come to Connersville your employees will be able to access our state of the art hospital and therapy services, great schools and beautiful countryside which we are very proud to be a part of. Thanks for making our lives exciting and hopeful.
