It is our time. A new American president was sworn in today and has called on our nation to pull together to put the country back on track – now. Carbon Motors Corporation is doing its part by providing our first responders the proper equipment they so sorely need, planning to reduce the nation’s 1.5 billion gallons of fuel its law enforcement fleet consumes and 14 million tons of C02 it emits every year by up to 40%, and by being the high impact catalyst to create 10,000 new direct and indirect American jobs – all fitting squarely with the direction of the new Obama administration.
But where is this all going to happen? It has been a question that we have been tackling for a very long time….
There is some unwritten rule somewhere that says site location negotiations and discussions need to be held behind closed doors. We are in a new age of much needed transparency, though. The product that we are developing is for the good of our country, and specifically law enforcement. It affects everyone at the local, state, and federal levels, across every college campus, at every airport, at every border, and at every port. In order for all this to occur, a strong public/private partnership is required and it is your hard earned taxpayer monies at stake.
For these reasons we are bucking the trend and will share openly our progress with you over the next days, weeks, and (hopefully not too many) months. As a preview of what is ahead, we will share the challenges with Georgia, as well as the opportunities in Florida, South Carolina, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, and North Carolina at the very least. It is important that all of us be held to account – elected, appointed, or otherwise in how we deal with our nation’s challenges. Perhaps nothing more than a bit of sunlight, transparency, and open collaboration will not cure.
We have been approached by many others, formally and informally, including but not limited to, Ohio, Arkansas, Kentucky, West Virginia, New Hampshire, and Missouri. We are trying to be careful on how we approach these, be respectful of the time communities spend in assessing the opportunity, and will continue the quest to get this major decision made in short order – the location of the Carbon Campus which will house the headquarters, research & development center, production center, showroom, service training, and vehicle evaluation track.
Over 1,000 law enforcement agencies have expressed an interest in purchasing the Carbon E7 and are waiting for us (i.e., want the car yesterday), we want and need to do our part in terms of job creation, and frankly the country needs some good news – we hope that we can be a part of the revitalization of the industrial sector in America. But we are looking for and need a welcoming and strong community that will a good partner, with solid business and technical merits, values the efforts being put forth, and wants to not read about history but be a key player in writing history during this transformational period in our country.
Stay tuned…

How about building the car/plant in Virginia. Norfolk, VA has a Ford plant that was closed last year.
Grab an existing plant that is going down by one of the big three. They ought to offer a heck of a deal with a quick available work force. Maybe the locals will cut a deal to avoid total job loss.
I applaud your enthusiasm and forward thinking, in regards to building a purposeful vehicle, specifically targetted at Law Enforcement. I also think it's great that you are utilizing American workers and working towards a newer, better business model. Hopefully you can set the trend and help lead America back into prosperity. Please consider Michigan for your manufacturing base-of-operations, as we have multiple facilities that have been abandoned by other companies, and plenty of eager workers (also abandoned by those companies). We'd love to have you, and I'm confident that our government would be willing to make every concession to draw you to our state. Keep up the good work!
To William Santana Li Chairman and CEO Carbon Motors - I can speak for many in the Upstate of SC that we welcome you and your company your great vision with open arms. I know that you have spent some time in the Upstate and hopefully you have seen what I and many people have fallen in love with about Greenville, SC. I relocated my family to Greenville, SC over 10 years ago and now am happy to call Greenville home. Anyone that visits and experiences all that this area has to offer also falls in love and several have decided to move here as well. I know that you are well aware of the ICAR project and the future and potential of that project is life changing for Greenville. I see your company and vision as being a perfect fit and being welcomed with open arms by ICAR. Greenville was recently rated by Forbes as #5 best places to ride out a recession and is continually rated as a top place to live and work. The housing is affordable, the people are beyond friendly, we have an eager and willing workforce that gets better daily, our schools despite national averages improve every year, our climate is awesome, we are centrally located and there is so much to see and do. We live smack in the middle of the bible belt and what a great place to raise your families. I hope that you and your company will give Greenville and the Upstate of SC a chance to show you our Southern Hospitality and willingness to partner with you as you do your part to make this world a better place to live. Thank you for your time and interest in Greenville, SC.
Why not think of Canada? With the dollar trading between 15-20% you would earn that much more on each car, plus the fact that we have National health care which means you pay less benefits to each employee. Ontario is always looking for more investment. Its worth a look.
Mr. Santana , Hopefully our Michigan Government is already comnunicating with you on coming to Detroit the Automotive Capital of the USA. We have highly qualified product development teams of designers ,engineers ,tooling ,processing and manufacturing engineers and production personnel that would make the Carbon E7 the best designed and m anufacturied vehicle ever. Michigan has been hit the longest and hardest with this recession and needs a positive direction. Hopefully the US Governmment , Michigan Government and yourself can put a excellent package together for Carbon Motors to invest in Michigan. We will be your most cost effective direction with the product development and manufacturing.
Great idea! Love seeing a creative mind work and gain success!!!!!! Hope it continues to grow! Regard http://www.mtselect.co.uk
Respectfully...while the thought of utilizing an existing site sounds like a viable option, I used to work at the GM plant in Janesville, it is my opinion that when these plants were built, they weren't thinking about their "carbon footprint." Carbon needs to build a green plant that conserves all it uses and recycles everything it can. As far as Canada, I really want to see Carbon in the U.S.A.
Why not Alabama? They already have Mercedes-Benz, Honda, Toyota, and Hyundai. It has many tier 1 suppliers plus many more in surrounding areas. Plus it is a non-union state. Could be turning into the new Michigan
You'll see our short list tomorrow morning - stay tuned!
Thanks for building in America Mr. Santana. I would hope that you have considered the Getrag Plant in Tipton County, Indiana that is available and virtually brand new with plenty of land for expansion if needed. As far as the infrastructure,Tipton County has done so much to accommodate the building, such as a new water treatment plant, electrical sub station, addition of needed roads and other improvements to the community. You literally have near by access to thousands of parts suppliers to our area here. The well-trained skilled work force and ready to work people here are ready to meet your expectations to build a quality product that you need. I really hope that Tipton has been communicating with you folks.
